Chunky Pussy

I like organic stuff, like things that naturally become and have grown into a splendid being!

I like really good music!

I like big fucking cats!

There are many, many reasons why I love this label but I'm not going to go into depth as it would turn my amateur ramblings into a novel of Fat Cat specific amateur ramblings, and that is not the project. I will however concisely meander through my reasonings and hopefully justify why what was once a record shop is now a sweet indie with one damn fine roster via the use of pre-school alphabet learning techniques...

C comes after B which stands for BRAKES

A is for Awesome which is what SIGUR ROS are!
(Fat Cat is the original home of the Icelantic foursome)

T is for THERE'S MORE...

I could go on, but ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK with KURT RUSSEL has just come on, and he's wearing an eye patch!

Anyway go buy a record from HERE and tell all of your most valued friends!

October & The Curse of Kings College

Recently we may seem to have been pretty quiet, quite the opposite!

Here's what's happened...

Firstly; FEAR OF SLEEP

We've advanced our talents to accommodating indie club soirees in studentville venues with the masses in mind. A no shit money-making machine that we believed would ease our fragile monetary situations and free up a little of the overly precious time between messing up someone else's business and trying to expand our own! Apparently this is far easier said than achieved...

FOS 1 -

This kicked shit out of any other studo indie do ever! Sold out from the off we'd covered our costs and made some pocket change without doing much work. Although in retrospect it was far more hard work than anticipated & we earned every penny, as the 7 floors separating the venue from the backstage/dressing room arena were abused by my feet every handfull of minutes, let alone the hours spend mudanely 'promoting' the event.

Number 2 -

KING CHARLES! HE. IS. FUCKING. AWESOME!!!

With shreds & dreds flying everywhere and a sweet display of jive whilst ripping the fretboard apart before sending his guitar smashing through the 2nd drum kit placed at the front of the stage, and then moving onto a tribal drum off before leaping off the stage, THIS WAS UNREAL!
Support came from MR JEREMY WARMSLEY'S new musical venture ACRES, ACRES with tidy harmonies and sweet melodies they are definitely a band to look out for. Opening the bill was our good friend LITTLELOSTDAVID. His sound has come a long way since our opening party at Filthy Mcnasties only a year ago. It is epic and interesting and he is going places!

Aside from that I had flu after sharing a tour bus with SLOW CLUB and THE HEEBIE JEEBIES. Chris decided to shave his natural sweater off (not! wierdo) and Tom has started to practice the ancient art of Tai Chi! Oh and being sick in the middle of pubs during torturous Karaoke sessions. However the guy singing 'Club Tropiana' ROCKED!

Some other things...

I am in love with a man who I have never met, or for that matter even seen...

Paul Thomas Saunders has been my most recent choice of music for this Autumnal decent. Its very melancholy, very melodic, and very downbeat, but most of all very fuckin' beautiful! There are definitely hints of Fleet Foxes in there and a more produced Nick Drake, which make it perfect for this time of seasonal change. As the leaves fall to this chilled ground, and the nights hug the tiring day I walk with a smile on my face.

Georgia Ruth Williams, is amazing, so thank you!

I've never seen a harpist perform live before my eyes before, but following Georgia's show at the Luminaire I am convinced its the most beautiful thing to have graced my sonic inceptors EVER! She effortlessly caressed the instrument whilst projecting witty yarns of love and nature through a beautifully mature and soulful voice, way beyond her teenage years.

Go see for yer sen - GEORGIA RUTH WILLIAMS

I'm also diggin...

FEAR OF SLEEP 3!!!

The weather is changing and party season is in our sights...

CUE; FEAR OF SLEEP!

This month sees a return to form with MOSHI MOSHI DJs fuelling the dancefloor with a mishmash indie dance attack following their recent heroics at Iceland's Airwaves festival and Wales' SWN festival.

We also have resident Keir Mills from Bloody Awful Poetry tearing it up till the wee hours!

Continuing Fear Of Sleeps command of new music we bring you another live bill of extreme excellence and pure innovation...

...LIVE...

MIRRORS

Mirrors are the rebranding of 2007 indie circuit favourites MUMM RA . They bang out epic electronic pop and will be found at every festival next year. New single 'Into The Heart' is Moshi Moshi's most recent singles export and will launch Mirrors into the public domain so catch them here first!

Take Note - These boys will be selling out massive venues come this time next year, come see them in the intimacy of TUTUs.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

We are priviledged to have Animal Kingdom grace the Fear of Sleep stage with their own brand of massive pop rock that reminds us of early Coldplay. With new album 'Signs & Wonders' out now and a recent tour with Snow Patrol, Animal Kingdom have to be seen live to appreciated the extent of their talents.

Take Note - “The sonic sweep and grandeur of early Radiohead and second album-era Coldplay… lovely, sunny songs, but with that key ingredient – a lurking melancholy” – Sunday Times

AL COOL & THE STRANGER WINES

Personal friends of Fear Of Sleep favourite Jeremy Warmsley and all round nice guys, Al Cool & The Stranger Wines are Awesome! With only a handful of shows under their belts including an appearance at this years Glastonbury we are expecting big things to come from them in the very near future!

Take note – Catchy songs and big chorus' = success!

We also have DJ 'Woolfie' the band weaver rockin out BIG indie tunes from classic 80s to present hits and the E on Toast boys smoothly supplying the finishing blow to the night til THREE in the morning.

Danny EOT on't radio...

Our good friends at The ADN Project Radio show gave me a little phone call a few days ago and asked me some questions live on air.

Here's what happened...

And here's the blurb for the show, fo sho...

Hello and welcome to The ADN Project - a big slap on the wrist is in order for us ('us' referring to Nash, Dan and the love child of the Jarman Brothers and the chimney sweep from Oliver Twist - Alex) for being away for so long. We have been planning!

This weeks fun packed show is an emotional rollercoaster, lamenting the absence of an alcohol ridden DJ Daniel Cooper and sobbing at the news of no-longer of the LondonPaper fame, Luke Blackall.

We do however celebrate the united musical front of ADN + Everything on Toast Records collaborating to promote the best new bands and nights out London has to offer.

In addition we have the wonderful Traveling Band on the blower to give us an update on the progress they are making on recording new material - with a sneaky listen to new tracks from Traveling Band HQ.

ENJOY!!!
