October & The Curse of Kings College

Recently we may seem to have been pretty quiet, quite the opposite!

Here's what's happened...

Firstly; FEAR OF SLEEP

We've advanced our talents to accommodating indie club soirees in studentville venues with the masses in mind. A no shit money-making machine that we believed would ease our fragile monetary situations and free up a little of the overly precious time between messing up someone else's business and trying to expand our own! Apparently this is far easier said than achieved...

FOS 1 -

This kicked shit out of any other studo indie do ever! Sold out from the off we'd covered our costs and made some pocket change without doing much work. Although in retrospect it was far more hard work than anticipated & we earned every penny, as the 7 floors separating the venue from the backstage/dressing room arena were abused by my feet every handfull of minutes, let alone the hours spend mudanely 'promoting' the event.

Number 2 -

KING CHARLES! HE. IS. FUCKING. AWESOME!!!

With shreds & dreds flying everywhere and a sweet display of jive whilst ripping the fretboard apart before sending his guitar smashing through the 2nd drum kit placed at the front of the stage, and then moving onto a tribal drum off before leaping off the stage, THIS WAS UNREAL!
Support came from MR JEREMY WARMSLEY'S new musical venture ACRES, ACRES with tidy harmonies and sweet melodies they are definitely a band to look out for. Opening the bill was our good friend LITTLELOSTDAVID. His sound has come a long way since our opening party at Filthy Mcnasties only a year ago. It is epic and interesting and he is going places!

Aside from that I had flu after sharing a tour bus with SLOW CLUB and THE HEEBIE JEEBIES. Chris decided to shave his natural sweater off (not! wierdo) and Tom has started to practice the ancient art of Tai Chi! Oh and being sick in the middle of pubs during torturous Karaoke sessions. However the guy singing 'Club Tropiana' ROCKED!

Some other things...

I am in love with a man who I have never met, or for that matter even seen...

Paul Thomas Saunders has been my most recent choice of music for this Autumnal decent. Its very melancholy, very melodic, and very downbeat, but most of all very fuckin' beautiful! There are definitely hints of Fleet Foxes in there and a more produced Nick Drake, which make it perfect for this time of seasonal change. As the leaves fall to this chilled ground, and the nights hug the tiring day I walk with a smile on my face.

Georgia Ruth Williams, is amazing, so thank you!

I've never seen a harpist perform live before my eyes before, but following Georgia's show at the Luminaire I am convinced its the most beautiful thing to have graced my sonic inceptors EVER! She effortlessly caressed the instrument whilst projecting witty yarns of love and nature through a beautifully mature and soulful voice, way beyond her teenage years.

Go see for yer sen - GEORGIA RUTH WILLIAMS

I'm also diggin...
